Basic Section
Intro
The Basic Syllabus gives an overall picture of what is expected to be accomplished by our members to be able to qualify as a Basic CAS pilot or JTAC. The syllabus should be used to identify educational needs and help you set up training goals for the next sortie. When you can complete all parts of the syllabus without the need for external assistance, you should be well prepared to complete the Basic Qualification CAS.
Basic Syllabus are limited to medium-high (Fixed wing) level CAS missions during daytime.
If not specified in the Syllabus all procedures are to be followed as described in the CAS Tactical Guide. For each aircrafts specific use of systems please refer to the Flight Manual usually located in:

CAS Pilot (Fixed Wing)
Weapon Delivery
- TGP (locate, identify and designate target)
- GBU-12 (CCRP or similar)
- GBU-38 or similar (500lb JDAM, No LJDAM)
- Keyhole procedures
- Fly on a Radial to/from a known point
- Basic IFR/VRF navigation (Follow a road, Fly north of a city, Stay east of a grid line, Stay above a given altitude, etc.)

Intro
The Advanced Syllabus is aimed at those who have completed the Basic Qualification CAS. Our CAS pilots and JTAC's who want to take the next step to strengthen their knowledge in CAS and be able to carry out CAS missions in a bad weather/high threat enviroment.
