Procedures
The procedures described here aim to ensure a common view of the workflow during assignments in order to facilitate the change of staff. Pilots knows who do what and when even if it’s the first time flying together.

1. Initial approach
- - When runway in sight at initial: Raise the seat slightly and sett approach mode on the weapons control panel.
- - 350 KIAS, if cleared by ATC otherwise according to MA SOP.
- - Break left/right at runway threshold, throttle to IDLE, extend speed brake, ~60° Bank.
- - 225 KIAS, retract speed brake, gear down, ~30° Bank, throttle up to hold 200 KIAS and maintain Altitude.
2. Downwind leg
- - 1,5 nm abeam threshold, 200 KIAS and maintain Altitude. Confirm landing gear down.
3. Base leg
- - Turn base when threshold ~45° behind aircraft, ~40° Bank.
- - Aim for ~5°-7° descend, when 90° to runway heading check speed 200 KIAS and altitude 1200-1300 ft.
4. Final to touch down
- - Aim to turn out to finale at 300-500 ft and with 1 nm to threshold, speed at 190 KIAS.
- - Reach and keep on-speed, and aim for 3° descend.
- - Throttle to IDLE just before touchdown, extend speed brake when wheels on ground and maintain your Angle of Attack to perform an aerobraking until 110 KIAS.
- - Wheel brakes below 130 KIAS and engage nose wheel steering below 40 KIAS.
