The goal should be to fly the F-15E as a crew (Pilot/WSO) to reach its full potential. However, In order to train effectively on your own, you as a pilot/WSO must be able to use AI.
+
In addition to what is described above and in the syllabus, you are expected to have knowledge regarding:
Therefore you should be able to complete everything described in the Pilot/WSO "Basic Section" below with AI. During Qualification your examiner will fly with you as Pilot/WSO.

The Basic Syllabus gives an overall picture of what is expected to be accomplished by our F-15E pilots and should be seen as a minimum level of knowledge. The syllabus should be used to identify educational needs and help you set up training goals for the next sortie. When you can complete all parts of the syllabus without the need for external assistance, you should be well prepared to complete the Basic Qualification.

WIP!

If not specified in the Syllabus all procedures are to be followed as described in the F-15E Manual. (Linked below)

F-15E manual

Before you start up the aircraft, be sure to read about our procedures around the airfield (Linked below) to ensure everyone can have a safe training environment.

- Runways (Given by ATIS, Preset 21 on Radio 2 in F-15E)
- Taxiways
- TACAN/ILS Freq
- Entry/Exit points

In addition to what is described above and in the syllabus, you are expected to have knowledge regarding:

  • Basic Comms as part of flight (not as lead) Note: everyone should be able to give taxi, takeoff and landing calls when needed.
  • Visually navigate between two points using for example terrain objects as guidence (the compass and an empty F10 map may be used)
  • Follow several waypoints in succession (flightplan) using information provided by the in-cockpit instruments or projected on HUD.
  • Navigate To/From or in reference to a TACAN using Radials and information provided by the in-cockpit instruments or projected on HUD.
  • Touch'n'Go Procedure (climb to 1500', turn downwind to end up ~1.5 NM from course line(runway heading), re-enter overhead break pattern on downwind).

The goal should be to fly the F-15E as a crew (Pilot/WSO) to reach its full potential and during Qualification your examiner will fly with you as Pilot/WSO. However, you as a pilot/WSO might need to use functions / carry out procedures that are normally carried out by the other crew member in order to train effectively on your own.

Good luck and have fun!

Basic Section

The Basic Syllabus gives an overall picture of what is expected to be accomplished by our F-15E WSO’s and should be seen as a minimum level of knowledge. The syllabus should be used to identify educational needs and help you set up training goals for the next sortie. When you can complete all parts of the syllabus without the need for external assistance, you should be well prepared to complete the Basic Qualification.
